1. Safety Team
Safety Freedivers
Competition Line:
Three safety freedivers assigned to one single competition line:
First freediver: covers from 0 to 15 meters.
Second freediver: covers from 15 to 30 meters.
Third freediver: positioned at the surface as backup for immediate intervention.
Warm-Up Buoys:
One safety freediver assigned to observe the warm-ups, covering the entire area.
Technical Equipment
Sonar Tracking System:
A sonar installed on the main platform to track the athletes’ position and progress in real time.
Operated by a dedicated technician in constant communication with the Safety Chief.
Counterweight System:
A counterweight system for emergency rescues.
Tested and verified for safe and rapid ascents in emergencies.
Medical Team
A Nurse specializing in reanimation and advanced airway management
Equipped with oxygen therapy systems.
2. Emergency Procedures
Underwater Rescue
Safety freedivers intervene according to their assigned depth zones.
Surface Response
Immediate evaluation of the athlete: consciousness, breathing, and vital signs.
Oxygen supplementation and immediate medical attention if necessary.
Medical Evacuation
Clear procedures for transferring the athlete from the water to the medical team on the plataform and evacuation to the shore.

Safety Briefing
Clear explanation of protocols to all participants, safety team, and medical personnel.
Practical demonstrations of rescues using the scooter and counterweight system.
Athlete Medical Check
Mandatory medical examination prior to the competition.
Updated medical history, particularly for conditions that may affect freediving.
Environmental Monitoring
Constant evaluation of weather, currents, and visibility.
Competition suspension if conditions are deemed unsafe.

A standardized signaling system to communicate emergencies at the surface and underwater.
