Safety Qualifications:
Safeties all have at minimum freediving, rescue swimmer, or life guard certification and complete a pre-competition competition safety workshop.

who is a certified O2 Administrator.
- Professional Lifeguard and Advanced First Responder Zoë Arendse on duty for the duration of the event

In pool safety precautions & procedure:
One safety diver will accompany each competitor for the duration of their performance. One
safety diver will be present in the warm-up zone. All safety divers have been trained in pool rescue
skills.

- Bring competitor to the surface.
- Blow - tap - talk
- Assist competitor out of the water.
- Administer CPR, if needed.
- Assess need for oxygen administration.
- Assess need for medical attention.
- Transport competitor to nearby hospital in the event of an emergency.
- Vehicle supplied by organiser to be used to evacuate patient to nearest hospital should it be required
- In the event of loss of consciousness, the competitor may not compete in any further events on
the day of the incident
