Safety Qualifications: The safety team will preferably all be certified with the Vertical Blue Depth Safety Freediver Course, and we will aim to have at least 3 or 4 safeties with previous depth competition experience  The team will aim to be a minimum of 7 safeties - 2 assisting on the platform and 5 in the water in a rotation. The safety divers will be given rest days whenever possible. The Chief of Safety will be Ricardo Montans, a local instructor and AIDA Instructor Trainer who has experience as both an athlete and a safety diver. 
Safety plan: We will have two EMTs available on the dive site during the competition - Ian Norris (Iannorris2@gmail.com) and Ryan Craig (craigus763@hotmail.com). The Competition site is only approximately 200 meters offshore - close to the dock of Roatan Diving School in West End, Roatan, taking only minutes to return a diver to the shore. If needed it is a 5-10 minute boat ride from the competition site to Anthony’s Key to reach the well established and serviced hyperbaric chamber. There will be a Doctor on standby on the dock, and two active Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) from the USA on the platform/platform boat with oxygen and trauma kits. An ambulance will also be on stand by for any emergencies a short distance from the dock at Roatan Diving School.
Oxygen will be available for both emergency situations and for breathing post deep dives.
