Safety Qualifications:
Head of Safety is an AIDA Freediving Instructor. Safety divers are experienced athletes and/or have experience as a safety diver in AIDA pool competitions.
Safety plan:
DYN, DYNB, DNF, 2 safety divers in the lane swimming, just behind athlete. STA, 1 safety diver per competition zone (total of 2 comp zones). If an incident occurs, airways are secured above water, Blow Tap Talk is started in event of diver BO. If no response, diver is removed to poolside. Medic takes control and administers O2. If no response after 30 seconds an ambulance is called. Nearest hospital, Changi General Hospital is 1.2km away.
