Safety Qualifications:
The competition safety team consists of experienced freediving instructors and Instructor Trainers who have completed the AIDA Depth Competition Safety Course by Vertical Blue. They have extensive experience providing safety support in multiple depth competitions.
Safety plan:
The medical team will include two doctors and seven nurses, all of whom are experienced medics for depth and pool freediving competitions and hold ACLS certification. A dedicated safety boat will be stationed next to the competition setup, located 250 meters from shore. The Philippine Coast Guard will manage water traffic and provide escort during extractions.
In the event of an emergency extraction, a medical vehicle will be stationed at the PNP-Maritime Group Special Waterborne Operations School in Mabini, which is 5.5 km from Mabini General Hospital, 15 km from Bauan Medical Hospital, and 23 km from St. Patrick’s Medical Hospital, which has a decompression chamber. Additionally, an emergency vehicle will be on standby at the Lawom Center for non-urgent transport to the hospital. An AED, DPV scooter, and sonar setup will also be available at the competition site.
