Safety Qualifications:
The competition safeties are experienced freediving instructors and instructor trainers. They have participated in multiple depth competitions and completed the AIDA Depth Competition Safety Course by Vertical Blue.
Safety plan:
The medical team will consist of two doctors and three nurses, all experienced as medics in depth and pool freediving competitions. A dedicated safety boat will be stationed next to the competition setup, located 250 meters from shore. Water traffic and emergency extraction will be managed by the Philippine Coast Guard. In case of emergency extraction, a medical vehicle will be stationed at the PNP-Maritime Group Special Waterborne Operations School in Mabini, just 5.5 km from Mabini General Hospital, 15 km from Bauan Medical Hospital, and 23 km from St. Patrick’s Medical Hospital, which has a decompression chamber. Additionally, an emergency vehicle will be on standby at the Lawom Center to transport athletes for non-urgent cases. The competition site will also have an AED, DPV scooter, and sonar setup available.
