Safety Qualifications:
The pool is set up according to Australian standards for operation and is also monitored by lifeguards on-site. First-aid equipment, including the AED and oxygen kit are readily available and accessible on-site.
Safety plan:
All injuries will first be attended to and assessed by an on-site medic. If deemed unmanageable on-site, casualties will be evacuated via ambulance to the nearest medical facility (Royal Prince Alfred Hospital), that is a 2.7km drive away. In the event of a serious incident, the competition will be suspended until further notice. Safety divers present in both the competition and warm-up lanes will be responsible for enforcing the safety of all athletes in the water, and intervene when necessary.
