Safety Qualifications:
-Full trauma care with hyperbaric chamber located in George Town Hospital which is 2min from main evacuation exit point
-Grand Cayman is within an EMS paramedical supported system
-EMS and evac exit within 10min of all dive sites
-Primary support boat plus fast evacuation boat
-Dr. John Feiner, is competition doctor and has all Advanced Cardiac Life Support interventions (AED, advanced airways, oxygen and more)
-Bill Coltart, head of safety rebreather team is Paramedical trained
-Lead safety freedivers and organizer Kirk Krack along with John Hullverson are EMT trained with DAN DEMP training
-Saftey freedivers have PFI Saftey Freediver and PFI Supervisor Freediver certifications which include DAN DEMP (includes neuro, O2, AED, ect)
-Safety freedivers and support personnel go through a PFI Freediver Code Course developed by Dr. Kerry Hollowell
-Safety rebreather divers are all technical/trimix trained and headed up by Bill Coltart at trimix rebreather instructor trainer
-PFI developed counter-balance system is one of FOUR primary safety and bail-out systems utilized (safety freediver, deep scooter freediver, counter-balance, safety rebreather divers)
-Primary and secondary freedivers meet at 1/3 depth, along with on-deck primary/secondary safety on stand-by
-Deep scooter safety freedivers typically meet at minimum 40m or 1/2 depth and deeper staying within visual of rebreather divers
-Rebreather divers start safety at 60m and deeper
-All safety protocols and scenarios are practice daily before athletes arrive and competition starts
